For the past 9 years, Smart Systems has been dedicated to designing solar power solutions to optimise energy generation for each home - reducing reliance on grid power, ensuring the highest return on the homeowner's investment. This was a great start and will always be our philosophy when designing each solar power solution.

As consultants, designers, and electricians, we approach solutions from a holistic perspective, recognising the power of synergy. With this in mind, we asked ourselves, how can we make better use of Solar power? 

The Solar Journey

Looking for ways that we could make solar power installations more effective took us on a journey of discovery. We wanted to be smarter about solar!

While many are aware of solar power's ability to generate electricity for homes and even store energy in batteries or charge electric vehicles, there was much more to explore.

The Vision: Enhancing Lives through Technology

From the start, Smart Systems envisioned leveraging technology to enhance our clients' lives.

We looked at what the majority of electricity in a home was being used for, which of course is hot water and heating. That's when we discovered the incredible energy efficiency of hydronic heat pumps.

With every kilowatt of electricity, hydronic heat pumps produce an astonishing 3 to 4 kilowatts of heat. This exceptional efficiency set the stage for a groundbreaking solution.

SolarHydro: Unleashing Unprecedented Results

By combining energy generation (Solar) and energy-efficient hot water and heating (Hydronic), we created SolarHydro—a game-changing solution that exceeded our wildest expectations.

Our data revealed 4-bedroom homes with central heating operating so efficiently that even the highest electricity bills amounted to just $1,100 per year, including daily fixed line level charges.

After studying the data further to understand how the energy was being used, we made further changes and upgrades to the solution, to enhance the synergy between Solar power and Hydronic heating.

The results that followed far exceeded the previous results (that we were already impressed with). The results were so good, that we wondered if people would actually believe us.

We've shared our findings with industry peers and suppliers, and everyone agrees that the impact of SolarHydro is unlike anything seen before.
